Cadetship Program

If you already hold a Certificate III qualification, just completed a traineeship or may already have some work experience and skills then a cadetship might be for you. People wanting to do a cadetship are usually studying anything from a Certificate IV to an Advanced Diploma and putting these skills into practical work.

Cadetship work level is usually higher and more responsible than work normally carried out by a trainee. Generally cadetships run for 18 months to two years.

If you’ve already successfully completed a traineeship with the State Government, you’ll be eligible to apply for a cadetship and undertake a higher level qualification.

Also, if you’re currently employed on a short term contract or in casual employment with a government department and you identify with one or more of the targeted groups listed above, you’re eligible for cadetships too.
