Career Group Description

These certificates improve graduates’ chances of becoming registered as an apprentice by an employer and progressing towards becoming a fully qualified tradesperson. Graduates of vocational education courses are highly competitive applicants for apprenticeship places as automotive electricians; mechanics; panel beaters; spray painters; trimmers; and detailers. These studies may also lead to employment in the highly competitive automotive parts and accessories field or as a trade assistant in a variety of workshops. Automotive qualifications include training in sales, administration, mechanical, vehicle body, outdoor power equipment, bicycles, electrical, and marine.

Accredited Training

Courses which are accredited meet the national standards as set down by the National Training Framework (NTF), the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and National quality assurance requirements such as the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). The courses are recognised throughout Australia and once you have finished your studies, by completing the relevant core and elective subjects, your efforts are recognised by achieving a qualification and receiving a formal parchment. Assessment is often conducted in real or simulated work places which measure your ability to perform competently in job focused outcomes.
