| Cooks and Kitchen Hands | Certificates gained in this area open a world of opportunities for cooks and kitchen hands, and offer the opportunity to work in diverse workplaces such as patisseries, cruise liners, restaurants, coffee shops, taverns, international hotels and outside catering. Graduates can expect to work with people from all over the world and see and experience a vast array of food, baking, patisserie and chocolate preparation techniques. | Event Coordinators and Managers | These courses provide graduates with management level skills for the Convention and Events Industry. Emphasis throughout the courses is on the application of the principles and practices relevant to the industry. Job titles may include Conference Co-ordinator, Events Co-ordinator, Meetings Co-ordinator, Hotel Sales and Marketing and Events Executives. People in this industry work in convention bureaus, tourism commissions, exhibition companies, for professional conference and event organisations, regional festivals and more. |

Courses in general operations enable students to learn specialist skills and knowledge in silver service, food and wine knowledge, and set the foundation for working in a hotel, restaurant, cafe, banqueting or catering environment. | Pastry Cooks and Bakers | Students who have completed the Certificate III in Food Processing - Retail Baking (Combined stream) will be able to work in international hotels, catering institutions, hotbread shops, supermarket bakeries, artisan bakeries, restaurants, cafes, plant bakeries (Tip-Top, Buttercup), bread and cake franchises (Brumby's, Bakers Delight & Cheese Cake Shop) and hospitals. Two years of industry experience is required after successful completion of this qualification to be eligible to apply for trade equivalence status from the Food, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Skills Advisory Council. Students who complete the Certificate IV in Hospitality (Patisserie) can expect to find employment in International Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Ships, world class Catering and Convention Centres, high class Restaurants and specialist Patisseries and Cafes. Highly skilled Patissiers are sought after all over the world. |
